Wyboston Lakes Resort has appointed Lydia Tickner to the newly created role of head of Meetings and Events.

In her new role, Tickner will help to ensure “revenue targets are exceeded, the event diary is filled with great experiences, and clients receive unparalleled service”.

She has more than 12 years of experience in planning and delivering events, most recently with the Royal Institution of Great Britain and Rothamsted Enterprises.

Her career began at English Heritage where she curated large-scale public events that included jousts and battles.

Tickner’s experience further expanded when working in corporate events at a major London-based agency, where she orchestrated award ceremonies and Christmas parties for up to 2,000 guests, looking after clients such as Deloitte, Pret a Manger and McLaren.

Christine Gomez, director of Revenue at Wyboston Lakes Resort, said: “We are delighted to welcome Lydia to our dynamic team. Her wealth of experience and passion for event management align perfectly with our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for our clients. With Lydia’s support, we are confident in reaching new heights and setting new industry standards.”

Tickner added: “I have a great passion for creating brilliant experiences while delivering successful strategies and superb service. I’m thrilled to be joining the Wyboston Lakes Resort team and to have this exciting opportunity.”
