Bringing over 30 years’ experience to the role, Bird began working in hospitality whilst still in school, and followed opportunities which led him to work and travel in Australia and South-East Asia.

Opened in February 2022, the Holiday Inn Express Cambridge West – Cambourne features 144 guest rooms and a range of amenities designed to meet the needs of a business and leisure traveller.

With his “extensive” hospitality experience and proven leadership skills, Bird aims to “enhance the guest experience at Holiday Inn Express Cambridge West – Cambourne and drive the hotel’s success to new heights”.

Bird said: “I am incredibly excited to be joining the Holiday Inn Express Cambridge West – Cambourne team as the general manager. As one of Holiday Inn Express’ most modern properties, I can’t wait to welcome guests to the property and celebrate the best of what our area has to offer.”
