In this episode we speak to Nico Tréguer, co-founder of Roberts and Treguer and The Culpeper Family. Nico spoke about founding the group alongside his longtime friend Gareth, having had a vision for bringing more nature spaces to cities, the planned extension of The Buxton in Spitalfields, and how the site’s storytelling engages guests and the local community, how the Culpeper Family’s core sustainability ethos helped it secure its B-Corp status and why hospitality has a responsibility to educate and innovate when it comes to sustainability.

Radisson Hotel Group has welcomed a period of strong brand growth in the Uk and Ireland, whilst signing its first affordable, high design prizeotel property in the same region, which is scheduled to open in Dublin in Q1 2025.

This landmark property follows a series of signings and openings for the group’s lifestyle brands in the region.

Located on the prominent James Street, prizeotel Dublin will be situated in the “Liberties” area, one of Dublin’s oldest neighbourhoods just outside the mediaeval walled city, dating back to the twelfth century.

Prizeotel Dublin will be within walking distance to The Irish Museum of Modern Art, home to the national collection of modern and contemporary art with over 3,500 artworks by Irish and international artists. The property is located a short distance from the world-famous Guinness Brewery and Storehouse, Dublin Zoo and St Patrick’s Cathedral.

The hotel will feature 145 rooms decorated in a mix of urban style and relaxed ambience, and a bistro bar spanning 250m2 on the ground floor.

The first prizeotel property opened in 2009 in Germany. The brand is currently present in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium and includes around 20 properties in operation and under development, representing more than 4,200 rooms.

Adela Cristea, vice president, business Development UK and Ireland at Radisson Hotel Group, said: “We are very excited to announce the signing of our first prizeotel property in the UK and Ireland region after the brand’s fantastic growth across Europe. We have a strong presence with 10 properties and over 1,500 rooms across Ireland, and this new property will be a great addition to the Radisson Hotel Group portfolio.”

Another Radisson Hotel Group brand that has had impressive growth in the region over the past few years is Radisson RED.

Recently, Radisson Hotel Group announced the signing of Radisson RED Huddersfield and Radisson RED Edinburgh Airport, set to open in 2025 and 2026, respectively. Radisson RED Huddersfield will undergo an extensive restoration and refurbishment of the historic George Hotel, originally built in 1851. The hotel will include 91 guest rooms and suites, which will feature Radisson RED’s signature design as well as references to the history, culture, and people of Huddersfield, paying homage to the town.

Radisson RED Edinburgh Airport will be a newly built property, with over 200 guest rooms. Its bar and restaurant will sit on the top floor, overlooking Edinburgh Airport and featuring outdoor terraces and meeting and event spaces.

The latest UK opening for the brand is Radisson RED Liverpool. Located in a thoughtfully-renovated Grade II-listed property and an original British railway hotel in the late 1800s, Radisson RED Liverpool blends history, legacy, and eclectic design.

The hotel’s modern barbecue and robata grill restaurant, Stoke, offers classic dishes with a grilled twist paired with unrivalled views of the neoclassical architecture and acclaimed concert venue of St George’s Hall, as well as the city’s cultural district.
