Independent hotel management company, RBH, has announced the appointment of Louisa Green as its new managing director.
With over 20 years of experience in hotel management roles, including multiple general manager and cluster general manager positions with IHG and a large operator, she will be continuing the legacy of Susan Bland, who has held the position since 2020 and is stepping down to focus on charitable projects.
Green has been one of the company’s operational directors for the past six years, overseeing the running of full-service franchised hotels across Marriott, Hilton, IHG and Accor brands, as well as independent properties.
She will begin her new role from January 2024 and will be responsible for overseeing the successful performance of all hotels in the portfolio.
Over the past 18 months, Green has been instrumental in RBH’s expansion into the upscale and luxury sphere, including the opening of the UK’s first Westin hotel in London and The Gantry, Curio Collection by Hilton, as well as being involved in securing RBH’s partnership with Covivio Hotels.
Green said: “In a period of huge opportunity and change for the hotel industry, it is a great honour to take on this role within a business that I truly believe in. This is a particularly exciting time for RBH, with many hotel openings and new partnerships on the horizon.
“I am eager to be working alongside the experienced executive committee more closely as their collective expertise has been pivotal to RBH’s ongoing success. Together, we will continue to drive innovation and lead RBH towards even greater achievements in the future.”
David Hart, CEO of RBH, said: “I am delighted to appoint Louisa as managing director following a lengthy recruitment process, during which both internal and external candidates were considered. Louisa has already demonstrated her ongoing commitment to RBH over the past six years and understands our business and culture very well.
“She is results-driven, as evidenced by the continued success of her hotel division, as well as highly strategic and is an exceptional leader. I have no doubt that she will excel in this role.”
He added: “I consider myself very fortunate to have worked alongside Susan over the past three years. She has done a phenomenal job throughout an incredibly challenging time of transition for our industry and will now hand over the reins to Louisa at the end of the year. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavours.”
