The private, family-owned business Best Holdings (UK) Limited has acquired St Lawrence Holiday Park in Southminster for an undisclosed sum.
The holiday park within the coastal area of Southminster has been developed to accommodate 191 caravan holiday homes.
The property, which spans approximately 15.1 acres within the village of St Lawrence adjoining the River Blackwater in Essex, also benefits from the pub St Lawrence Inn and a private beach.
Prior to being brought to market, the holiday park was in the same family ownership for the past 80 years, in which it achieved a number of awards including a silver David Bellamy Conservation Scheme Award and Visit Essex finalist for best park in Essex.
The area draws in visitors from around the region who come to enjoy water sports and attractions such as Bradwell Marina, The Maldon Promenade Park, Maldon Barges, Madison Heights Family Entertainment Centre, Blackwater Leisure Centre and Burnham Golf Club.
Kay Griffiths, associate director of leisure and trade at Savills, said: “St Lawrence Holiday Park offered a rare opportunity to purchase a well-established business in a prime destination; we are delighted to have completed the sale on behalf of our client.”
