Murrayshall Country Estate has been given the green light by Perth and Kinross Council for a £30m masterplan.
The approved proposals will include an extension to the hotel, a new spa and leisure facility, an outdoor pursuits area, glamping units, lodges and the potential for residential development and fractional ownership.
The hotel is now expected to go through a detailed planning process before work can begin in 2024.
Gary Silcock, general manager for Murrayshall Country Estate, said: “We are delighted with the Council’s decision to approve our Masterplan Application and would like to thank everyone for their support.
“We’ve been examining for some time our current standing and future prospects and it is evident we continue to face certain challenges. Today’s decision to approve our proposals in principle is the first step in a new chapter for Murrayshall Country Estate – a journey from challenges to opportunities, fostering growth, employment and ultimately providing an asset to be enjoyed by the local community.”
Silcock continued: “Reflecting on our past endeavours, including a substantial investment of approximately £5m into the estate, we recognise the significance of this milestone. This approval unlocks a potential investment of around £169m across Perth and Kinross and Scotland, potentially securing 400 job opportunities.
“We look forward to bringing forward more detailed plans over the coming months.”
