David McDonald, finance director, said: “We are thrilled and extremely proud to welcome the hotel to our growing collection. We would like to thank Christie and Co once again for helping us to realise this second acquisition of 2023.  Blackpool as a resort has always been a favourite with our customers.”

Jeremy Jones, head of brokerage at Christie and Co who acted for the seller, said: “We are delighted to report the sale of the Liberty’s on The Square. Blackpool is one of the UK’s most popular seaside resorts and is currently going through a major regeneration programme, which will boost the resort’s strong leisure demand and benefit good-quality local hotels including the Liberty’s on The Square.

“It has been a pleasure working with David on this transaction and we have no doubt that the Caledonian Family will continue the success of this hotel. The property is one of the 33-asset portfolios that we are currently marketing on behalf of the Coast and Country Hotel Collection. The hotels have received very strong interest to date, and a limited number of these assets remain available, so we invite any interested parties to get in touch.”
