Hartham Park, a former country house estate in Wiltshire, has officially been sold for an undisclosed amount.

Christie and Co and joint agent, Strutt and Parker, announce the sale of the estate on behalf of joint administrators, Ben Wiles and Phil Dakin of Kroll Advisory Limited.

The Grade II Listed, former country house estate set in 20.08 hectares (49.63 acres) is currently used as serviced office accommodation. There is 67,763 square feet of accommodation in total across various buildings including an impressive Grade II listed mansion house, coach house and stables, and modern office/reception building. 

The property offers serviced office accommodation in up to 70 individual office units, with seven meeting rooms with café and facilities.

The property is positioned between Bristol, Bath, Chippenham, and Swindon, with good access to the M4 motorway (Junction 17) which is 8.4 miles to the north. Chippenham railway station provides a regular service to London Paddington, and Bristol Airport is 28.8 miles away.

The country house has been purchased by a private investor, who intends to continue with the serviced office business.

Ed Bellfield, regional director at Christie and Co who handled the sale, said: “We are delighted to complete the sale of Hartham Park as it is rare that a property of this magnitude comes to the open market. 

“Hartham Park is a landmark property which unsurprisingly attracted considerable buyer interest when launched to the market, generating bids from both domestic and international property investors. The sale of the house presents the start of a new chapter in Hartham Park’s history.”

Oliver Custance-Baker, head of Strutt and Parker’s country house department, added: “The sale of Hartham Park concludes a period of intense marketing with our joint agents, targeting both buyers acting in a private and personal capacity as well as recognised commercial investors. The sale is a fantastic result for our client, and also secures the future of Hartham Park as one of Wiltshire’s most extensive country houses. 

“The use of this country’s prominent houses beyond private residential ownership is certainly apparent, and sellers of similar properties should take confidence from the appetite from active buyers.”
