Providence Hotels has appointed Julio de Carvalho back into the fold as the new general manager overseeing two of its properties: The Old Quay House Hotel in Fowey and The Rosevine Hotel in Portscatho.

In his new role, De Carvalho plans to enhance the “unique” character of each hotel while introducing new services and amenities designed to meet the evolving needs of modern travellers.

His approach focuses on sustainability, community engagement, and “creating enriching experiences that celebrate the local culture and natural beauty of Fowey and Portscatho”.

Providence Hotels stated that under Julio de Carvalho’s stewardship, guests and teams alike can “anticipate a period of invigorating growth and innovation”.

Providence Hotels is an independent hotel management company specialising in bespoke hotel offerings.

De Carvalho said: “It’s an honour to lead The Old Quay House and The Rosevine Hotel into their next chapter.

“These hotels have a storied reputation in their respective locales for offering exceptional guest experiences. My aim is to build on this legacy, infusing innovation with tradition, to further elevate our service and ensure that each stay is memorable. I’m excited to embark on this journey, enhancing the essence of what makes these hotels special while introducing new narratives and experiences for our guests.”

Dagmar Jungbauer, director of operations at Providence Hotels, added: “Julio’s deep understanding of the hospitality industry, combined with his innovative mindset and commitment to excellence, makes him the perfect fit for these roles,” Jungbauer commented.

“His prior experience with Providence Hotels ensures a seamless transition and a deep alignment with our values and aspirations for The Old Quay House and The Rosevine Hotel. We are thrilled to have him back on board.”
