Beds and Bars places St Christopher’s Inn up for sale

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

St Christopher’s Inn in Greenwich has been brought to market on behalf of Beds and Bars Group for an undisclosed sum.

The group is poised to reinvest capital that is tied up in the freehold asset in London, in line with the company’s strategy to provide larger units across Europe.

According to Beds and Bars, there are currently several opportunities that the company is pursuing, in new and existing territories, that are a “better fit” for the company’s long-term strategy of expanding under the St Christopher’s Inns brand, whilst continuing to have an F&B offering available to walk-in customers through Belushi’s bars.

St Christopher’s Inn, Greenwich has been in the Beds and Bars portfolio since 1999.

The site features 14 rooms for guests and a modern bar complete with a sunny street terrace.

Beds and Bars Group is looking forward to reinvesting the money from the sale into the youth travel industry, and is “confident that the site will continue to be a fantastic asset to the Borough of Greenwich”.

The property is being marketed through Neil Morgan, senior director – Pubs and Restaurants at Christie and Co.

Morgan said: “We are really delighted to assist the Beds and Bars Group in their ongoing strategy, with the marketing of this rarely available, characterful and imposing four-storey corner property, which is offered for sale as a thriving bar/restaurant and backpacker hostel business in excellent decorative order throughout. We anticipate interest from established pub, bar and hotel operators as well as property investors and developers.”
