Clermont named in UK’s Best Workplaces for Development 2024 list

This brand-new list is an additional accolade from Great Places To Work, showcasing companies that make employee development a key part of their company culture

Clermont Hotel Group has officially been named as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development in Great Place To Work’s 2024 list.

The hotel owner-operator is known for its best-in-class approach to training and development within the hospitality industry, relaunching The Academy last year – its centralised hub of training and development for over 1,600 employees spread across its 17 hotel properties and central support office in London.

This brand-new list is an additional accolade from Great Places To Work, showcasing companies that make employee development a key part of their company culture.

Amanda Hall, head of talent and organisational development at Clermont Hotel Group, said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded this recognition from Great Places To Work. The hospitality industry continues to face its fair share of challenges – from staff shortages to rising costs – so it’s more important than ever to encourage people to consider the industry.

“People enter hospitality for different reasons, and we want to lead the industry in being realistic about this, offering employees a tailored approach to training and development that fulfils their needs. Hospitality offers huge opportunities to build a successful career, and at considerable pace, but equally we understand that our roles often appeal to those looking for interim work.”

She added: “We are extremely proud of our teams and to be recognised in this way, alongside other fantastic companies. This award reflects our commitment to fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, innovation, and mutual respect.”

Benedict Gautrey, MD of Great Place To Work UK, said: “Employee training and development isn’t just about teaching employees to do their jobs. It’s about showing employees they are valued and that there is a path of progression available. When employees don’t see opportunity, they don’t bring their best selves to work and productivity and retention will be adversely impacted.”
