Radisson Hotel Group has announced the opening of a 154-room Radisson Blu Hotel in Sheffield city centre.
The hotel occupies a sympathetically restored building with a Victorian façade, which benefits from views overlooking the Town Hall and The Peace Gardens.
Located just a 10-minute walk from Sheffield train station and in close proximity to both the City Hall and Europe’s largest purpose-built food hall, Cambridge Street Collective, Radisson said the hotel offers “an ideal base for urban exploring and weekend escapes” in Sheffield.
Radisson Sheffield also houses a rooftop speakeasy-style Indian restaurant concept and bar, six flexible meeting and event spaces with an outdoor terrace, and a fully equipped fitness centre.
Valerie Donaldson, GM of Radisson Blu Hotel Sheffield, said: “We are thrilled to welcome guests to our stunning property where history meets hospitality. With architectural grandeur and luxurious contemporary facilities, we aim to create the perfect symphony of sophistication for a well-rounded stay.
“As part of the ‘Heart of the City’ regeneration project that Sheffield is currently undergoing, the hotel plays a pivotal role in shaping the city’s new identity while staying true to its roots.”
Tom Flanagan Karttunen, area senior VP of Northern and Western Europe at Radisson Hotel Group, added: “The opening of Radisson Blu Hotel Sheffield marks a significant milestone for us and the city. Located in the heart of Sheffield and part of the ’Heart of the City’ regeneration investment, this hotel is the first new hotel in the city for many years.
“We are excited to bring a touch of Blu to the UK’s greenest city, at a prime location for leisure guests, corporations and meetings and events.”
