Old Course Hotel unveils spa upgrades

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa has announced the completion of major renovations to its award-winning Kohler Waters Spa.

Situated on the East Fife Coast of Scotland, in the historic town of St Andrews, the five-star Old Course Hotel offers “exceptional” hospitality with its Spa providing a restorative sanctuary and world-class treatments.

It is the only Kohler Waters Spa outside the US, featuring facilities, curated wellness workshops and beauty and wellbeing treatments from expert practitioners.

The spa is now home to the very first Espuro Foam Experience steam room in the UK, joining only ten others in the world. This high-tech KLAFS product has been installed in the fully refurbished ladies changing room and offers a 15–20-minute foaming ritual – available free of charge to all female day spa guests and without pre-booking.

The experience begins with soft light and music before the plant-based foam fills the cabin up to chest level.

As part of the extensive Hydrotherapy Suite renovation, the interiors and finishes have all been upgraded, continuing the “calming design” of the spa pool throughout the space with soft lighting and neutral tones.

New Kohler Experience Showers have also been installed featuring digital displays that allow guests to configure and control outlets, temperature, and flow, creating a personalised showering experience.

This major refurbishment is part of a larger renewed focus on wellness at Old Course Hotel, with a programme of workshops including autumn equinox and winter solstice yoga, beach meditation, pilates, and an upcoming cold water wellness retreat.

Kohler Company acquired Old Course Hotel in 2004 and is a global leader in the design, innovation and  manufacturing of bath products which are installed throughout the hotel. The Kohler Waters Spa utilises the brand’s state-of-the-art designs to create a “truly relaxing” environment, inspired by the natural restorative properties of earth’s mineral-rich waters.

In early 2024, Kohler acquired KLAFS, a market leading creator of premium saunas, steam rooms and hydrothermal features.
