Harbour Hotels has announced it is set to launch The Jetty Restaurant, Bar and Terrace, at Padstow Harbour Hotel, Cornwall this September.
Located on the ground floor of the hotel, the 60 cover restaurant headed by chef patron Alex Aitken has been designed in response to the region’s maritime culture, maximising the panoramic views of The Camel Estuary.
Open throughout the week, The Jetty will offer relaxed all-day dining and features a dedicated bar, in addition to a terrace and lawn area. Guests are also welcome to relax after their meal in ‘The Snug’, an intimate space layered with velvet seating – the perfect place for after-dinner drinks in cooler months.
The seafood-driven menu at The Jetty will be almost entirely sourced from local fishermen and suppliers across Cornwall. The ever changing daily ‘Catch of the day’ roster will see favourites such as local day boat fish, whole Padstow Lobster, and Porthilly Oysters make regular appearances whilst in season.
Other dishes on the opening menu will include Alex’s signature dishes including Cockle Popcorn; Alex’s Twice Baked Cheese Soufflé’; Cod and Crab; The Jetty Surf and Turf; and Roasted Monkfish.
Aitken said: “As we open the doors to The Jetty Padstow, I’m excited to bring our coastal dining experience to this vibrant part of the UK. Padstow’s culinary heritage is well revered and our focus will be on serving fresh, locally sourced seafood, paired with innovative flavours that celebrate the essence of the Cornish coast. We are aiming to create a new dining destination where both hotel guests and visitors alike can enjoy amazing Cornish produce in a setting that is relaxed, warm and welcoming”.
