The Allanton Inn, in the village of Allanton, Berwickshire, has been brought to market for an asking price of £730,000.Located on the village’s main street, The Allanton Inn is an established bar and restaurant with rooms.
The former 18th Century coaching inn occupies a B-listed building, which has been sympathetically modernised and refurbished throughout “while keeping its traditional feel”.
The property features a main bar and restaurant area, a private dining area with space for 20 guests, and seven high-quality letting rooms.
There is also an al-fresco dining area and beer garden, which has its own pizza oven and cocktail bar.
The former fire station/stables building and land to the rear of the property could be developed, which would allow for an additional six bedrooms.
Being just six miles from the English Border and just over one hour’s drive from Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne, the inn is popular tourists and commuters.
Simon Watson, business agent at Christie and Co who is handling the sale, said: “I am delighted to have been instructed to act on behalf of the current owners of the Allanton Inn. This opportunity would be well suited to an owner operator although, could also easily slot into an existing group or portfolio due to financial performance.”
