The Leonard Hotel in Marylebone, Central London, has completed the first phase of a refurbishment for £1.5m, which has made “elegant and contemporary” upgrades to one of its four Georgian townhouses.
The hotel, which is family-owned and operated since 2003,launched the refurbishment programme in 2023.
It comes as The Leonard’s first full-scale renovation that aims to “breathe fresh air into the space, while preservice the classic British charm”.
The project has introduced enhanced bedroom and bathroom layouts, improved room flow and luxurious new materials, with the help of director Saachi Sehgal, who worked closely with Russell Sage Studio to “honour the hotel’s quintessentially English aesthetic”.
Aligned with the hotel’s commitment to sustainability, The Leonard has also introduced a smart guest room management system that uses occupancy-based sensors to optimise energy efficiency of lighting and air conditioning.
The next phases of The Leonard’s refurbishment will include the communal areas, featuring a planned separate entrance for the hotel’s restaurant.
