Luxury Buckinghamshire country hotel Burnham Beeches Hotel will complete a multi-million-pound refurbishment investment in November through hotel management company Immersive Hospitality Management (IHM) under its new sub-brand, Imerso Hotels.
The refurbishment of the luxury hotel will see its 80 bedrooms and suites, reception, and public and leisure areas transformed, drawing inspiration from its natural surroundings and woodland setting, while preserving the Georgian Manor House’s heritage and historical features.
As the inaugural property in the Imerso collection, the hotel epitomises the newly created brand’s three key pillars: Wellness, Connectivity, and Sustainability. With “innovative” design and “high-quality” products throughout, the hotel’s vision is to create a” real sense of wellbeing” for guests.
With a focus on an immersive “Imerso” guest experience, Immersive Hospitality Management has crafted every detail of the guest journey at The Burnham Beeches Hotel.
Designed by Immersive Hospitality Management’s head of design and development, Kay Cullen, the newly renovated property brings a “contemporary” touch to the historic hotel. The overall design showcases an “eclectic” mix of furnishings expressed through exotic fabrics and objects. The colour palette, materials and fabrics feature a mythical forest, linking the natural surroundings to the area’s history.
Upon entering the hotel, guests are welcomed by an open reception area, where a tree-planted atrium sits at the centre to reflect a forest glade. This is surrounded by a custom-made, teal velvet round banquette seating.
Thought-provoking murals by Rebel Walls and wallpapers “engage” the guests with pops of brighter green and teal wall tiles balancing the natural colour palette.
The colour schemes and textural nature-inspired patterns continue in the refurbished oak character rooms and the bridal suite, the clifton suite. The new suite features chinoiserie wallpaper that reflects the travels of the infamous Grand Tour, where vibrant fabrics and artwork adorned the walls of country mansions.
The suite also boasts a separate lounge/dressing area with Ikat fabric curtains, and a shower room designed with teal tiles laid in a basket weave design, a double vanity sink, brass accents, and vintage-inspired light fittings, all complementing the Georgian features.
The refurbishment will also include the newly designed cocktail bar in the Verdure Lounge which features furnishings in teal, mustard, orange, and gold, accented by a mural behind the tiled bar, and neon lighting.
With high bar seating and a long sofa bench beneath chandeliers and foliage, the bar offers a “cosy yet sophisticated” destination. It serves sharing platters and small plates alongside cocktails, beers, and a selection of wines.
Guests can also enjoy dining experiences in Brasserie 1727 and the Evergreen Tearoom, both offering views across the grounds. With a vast lawn and intimate events terrace, the hotel features various private dining areas and a white wedding pavilion nestled into the lawns.
Lastly, the Soul Spa Health Club at Burnham Beeches Hotel features two treatment rooms offering selected Temple Spa treatments. The newly designed changing rooms continue the forest glade inspiration, with teal tiles resembling a tree canopy, Georgian-inspired floor tiles, wood accents and greenery.
Poolside areas will also be updated, and a state-of-the-art gym is available for guests and members.
Immersive Hospitality Management chairman Andrew Khoo, said: “It is an incredibly exciting time for us as we unveil the refurbishment of Burnham Beeches Hotel, marking the first major milestone under Immersive Hospitality Management. With Burnham Beeches Hotel reopening under the Imerso Hotels sub-brand, we are thrilled to reintroduce this iconic property following its extensive transformation.”
