An 18th Century farmhouse turned hotel, the Marston Farm Hotel in North Warwickshire, has been acquired by an Indian company for £2.5m.
Representing their first step into the UK hospitality market, the acquisition underscores the buyer’s commitment to expanding internationally, with plans to build a portfolio of UK properties.
Originally an 18th Century farmhouse, the hotel sits on a six-acre freehold site and features 37 en-suite bedrooms. In addition, the hotel includes a 50-cover restaurant, a bar, a 120-capacity semi-permanent marquee, and four conference and meeting rooms.
Located just 11 miles from the National Exhibition Centre and Birmingham International Airport, and close to Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth, and the M42, the property is positioned to cater to corporate, leisure, and events markets.
The buyer expressed a strong interest in expanding their UK asset base, leveraging opportunities in collaboration with Colliers, who facilitated the sale.
They said: “We are excited to make our first UK hotel acquisition with such a unique and well-located property. This is an important step in our venture in the hospitality business.”
Josh Sullivan, associate director in Colliers’ Hotels Agency team, added: “The Marston Farm Hotel attracted strong interest due to its strategic location, historic appeal, significant potential for development, as well as strong past trading history for corporate and leisure custom. We are proud to have worked with the buyers on their first UK acquisition and look forward to assisting them with future opportunities in the UK.”
