Waterton Park Hotel and Spa in Wakefield has appointed Stephen Fearnley FIH as its new general manager.
Fearnley is known to have extensive experience in the hotel industry. He has led and developed teams at a wide range of properties and groups including Mottram Hall and Rookery Hall in Cheshire, New Hall in the West Midlands, Hard Day’s Night in Liverpool, and most recently, historic Billesley Manor near Stratford.
In his new role, he aims to deliver guest satisfaction, increase team engagement, foster a positive team culture and establish strong reputation within the local and regional community whilst implementing sustainable practices.
Waterton Park Hotel, operated by Amaze Hotels, is a 63 bedroom hotel spread across the site’s Georgian mansion house, Walton Hall, and a modern building on the mainland. The hotel also features a golf course and The Grand Café dining room.
Fearnley said: “As a Yorkshireman, born only a few miles down the road, but having never led a hotel in this wonderful county, heading a great team in this stunning historic setting really excites me. I have always enjoyed leading teams in stunning historic country house hotel settings whether they be manors, halls or parks – With Waterton I get Walton Hall and Waterton Park.”
