The Zetter Group announce profit sharing scheme for staff

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Hotel and restaurant brand Zetter Group has introduced a profit sharing scheme for its employees.

The firm says the scheme is inspired by the John Lewis Partnership, which already operates a large scale profit sharing system for its employees, and it is thought Zetter’s will be the first of its kind implemented in the UK hospitality sector.

The Zetter profit sharing scheme is open to all employees who have been with the company two years or more, irrespective of seniority, and will pay a bonus calculated as a percentage of salary, making it equitable across the company’s workforce.

Jason Catifeoglou, partner of the Zetter Group, said: “As a business we are totally committed to the wellbeing of our team. Our guests constantly remind us that what sets us apart from the rest is the warmth and sincerity of our people and we are very aware that they are the key to our enduring success.

“We are delighted that we are now sharing this success with them in such a fair and open way.”

Mark Sainsbury, founder and partner of the group, said he was “hugely proud” of the scheme.

Under the new initiative, employees are also offered benefits, including maximum working weeks, neck and shoulder massages, staff discounts, access to private loans, referral bonuses up to £1000, wine purchase at cost price and bike and annual travel card loans.
