The Cottage Inn, a coaching inn with bar and restaurant in the coastal village of Dunstan, Northumberland has been placed up for sale in offers of excess of £1.25m.
The Cottage Inn comprises 10 ensuite letting bedrooms along with a restaurant and bar with additional owners’ accommodation. The inn sits on a five-acre plot with extensive lawned gardens and woodlands, as well as ample on-site parking, all of which offers scope for further development and expansion.
The village of Dunstan is half a mile from the fishing village of Craster, as well as the medieval ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle which tower over the dunes, both of which are hotspots for visitors to the Northumberland Coast National Landscape.
Just a few miles inland is Alnwick, famed for Alnwick Castle and Gardens and one of the main tourist and visitor attractions in the county.
As such the sellers said The Cottage Inn is “ideally positioned” to take advantage of these surroundings which attract visitors all year round.
Mark Worley, director at Christie and Co who is managing the sale, said: “Given its location and plot size, we feel that this is a tremendous opportunity for a leisure operator to develop the site and buildings to create an excellent and substantial hospitality business, in one of the most picturesque and desirable parts of the country.”
