IHG Hotels and Resorts has officially opened its 100th Voco hotel, reaching the milestone less than seven years after launching the premium brand in 2018.

Voco, part of IHG’s Premium collection, has become the company’s fastest-growing brand, with properties now open in 25 countries and 95 more in the pipeline. The brand is expected to reach 200 hotels within a decade of launch.

The 100th opening – Voco Guilin Yangshuo in China – joins a portfolio of hotels designed to balance consistent guest experiences with local character. The Guilin property spans six villas with 73 rooms, offering views of Karst peaks and the Yulong River.

Other recent additions include Voco Quang Binh Resort by IHG in Vietnam, the brand’s first resort property, and Voco The Shelby in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina – its first beachfront hotel in the United States.

IHG attributes Voco’s growth to its flexible design model and conversion-friendly framework, which allow independent properties to integrate quickly and with limited upfront investment. Owners gain access to IHG’s wider platform, including its technology, marketing and IHG One Rewards loyalty programme, which now has more than 145 million members.

Ginger Taggart, vice president for global Crowne Plaza and voco hotels at IHG, said: “We are so proud to have opened 100 Voco hotels in less than seven years. The brand has grown faster, pushed further and continues to exceed expectations every year.

“With a pipeline of 95 hotels, we are on track to achieve our initial goal of 200 Voco hotels around the world within 10 years of launch. A huge thank you to our colleagues, owners and partners for supporting Voco’s growth and success.”
