Premier Inn opens first Zip hotel in Cardiff

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. Premier Inn has launched its first Zip hotel in Cardiff, Wales.

The property is located in Roath, just a short ride from Cardiff city centre, and is said to offer “very compact” 8.5 sqm rooms.

The brand said guests would benefit from a large communal area, which can transform into a workspace and bar, providing “plenty of opportunity for guests to work and play”. The Zip hotel concept was created by design studio Priestman Goode.

Gavin Henson, Welsh rugby player, who attended the opening, said: “It was great fun to launch the world’s first Zip by Premier Inn here in Cardiff. I’m sure that the rugby fans who are flocking to the city to watch the big match later in March will love the fact that they have somewhere very cool to stay without breaking the bank.

“The ZIP team showed me that they’ve got all of the skills needed to give a very warm Welsh welcome to their guests and I wish them every success.”
