Are your Christmas promotions working for you?

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Successful hotels start promoting their Christmas offers as early as June, so it’s likely you have your Christmas offers sorted. But are you promoting them effectively online?

Have you made sure your offer page is SEO friendly? Is your offer ranking in the natural and paid search results? Have you told your current and potential guests about the offer? If you’re not doing all of the above you’re probably missing out on potential bookings and revenue.

But help is at hand, we’ve put together our top tips for promoting Christmas offers online:

1. Choosing the right offer: The best promotion in the world will struggle to generate business from an unappealing offer. Look back at previous year’s offers, what worked well? Listen to what your guests want and tailor your offer to them.

2. Planning your campaign: Think about what you want to achieve. Do you want more local guests visiting your restaurant for Christmas parties? Or do you have a special Christmas and New Year package you want to promote.

3. Running your campaign: Your campaign should consist of a webpage for your offer focussing on the specific keywords you’re targeting, PPC ads, an email campaign consisting of one or more targeted emails to your database and at least one content piece containing your chosen keyword.

4. Tracking the results: Make sure you track the results of everything you do. This way you’ll know what works and what needs to changed. You’ll be able to track exactly what your R.O.I is and which bookings came from which promotions.
