Royal George Hotel hits market for £3m

Perth’s historic Royal George Hotel has been placed on the market off a guide price of £3m after 20 years of family ownership.

The three-star hotel has 46 rooms and is located near the city centre and overlooks the River Tay close to the major city centre venues and attractions.

The Royal George has been a landmark of the Scottish city since early Victorian times and there has been an inn on its Tay Street premises for around 250 years. Colliers International is acting for husband and wife team Eddie and Lorna Anderson, and their son Ed Anderson.

Alistair Letham, a director in the UK hotels agency team at Colliers International, said: “The Royal George Hotel has been an important and iconic business on the Perth hotel scene for centuries, and this continues to this day – even more so thanks to its superb location overlooking the River Tay and close to all the major venue and attractions in the city centre of Perth.
