Cheshire-based Andrew Bourne, a former Claridge’s chef, has purchased and refurbished the Alexandra Court Hotel in Congleton, Cheshire.
The redevelopment of the hotel has seen the opening of a new outdoor veranda and sitting area for the upcoming summer season, as well as a complete redecoration of all 14 individually designed rooms within the Victorian building.
The hotel caters for bespoke weddings, afternoon teas and has gained a ‘number one’ rating on TripAdvisor for boutique hotels in the Cheshire region. According to Bourne, the acquisition and refurbishment is expected to raise the profile of the hotel as a bespoke events location across the UK.
Bourne, owner of the Alexandra Court Hotel, said: “I’ve admired Alexandra Court for a very long time, so was thrilled that the financial backing and guidance from HSBC UK has allowed us to acquire this impressive hotel and bring the location back to its best.
“We aim to provide affordable luxury accommodation for the area and create a unique boutique venue for family celebrations and business meetings. It’s a beautiful property, set against a stunning landscaped garden, and we look forward to welcoming guests for the next chapter of the Hotel’s story.”
John Paulson, relationship manager for South Cheshire and North Staffordshire, HSBC UK, added: “HSBC UK is committed to supporting the growth of local businesses in Greater Manchester and beyond, so we’re pleased to be backing the Alexandra Court Hotel through our dedicated lending fund.
“The Alexandra Court Hotel has a strong reputation and, with Andrew at the helm, we are certain the business will continue to flourish. We wish them every success for the future.”
