Premier Inn has opened its new Wokingham town centre hotel today (15 November) at Elms Field.
This is the first hotel for the chain opened in the town, the new hotel is equipped with 95 bedrooms, which has created 26 job opportunities for staff to work at the hotel.
The new hotel offers “family friendly” rooms and access to the onsite restaurant Thyme, which also offers a children’s menu.
Celebrations were set to begin at 11:30am, where staff members would show local people around the new build at their “open house event” which was officially opened by Wokingham Borough Mayor, Cllr Bill Soane.
Commenting on the opening, Bernie Pich, assistant director of commercial property, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Premier Inn to Elms Field. They continue to prove themselves as one of the country’s leading hotel chains, regularly winning awards as the travellers choice of hotel, whether for business or leisure.”
Carolyn Floyd, new openings project manager at Premier Inn added: “Premier Inn Wokingham will be our very latest hotel offering excellent standards, great service and brilliant value for money we are known for.
“As a business we always recruit locally. We have had great success recruiting in Wokingham, with most of the 26-strong team living in the local area, and the team’s pre-opening training has been full of energy and a lot of fun.”
