Hilton had managed the hotel situated on Furnival Road, at Victoria Quays, for 20 years, and decided to “surrender” its lease earlier this year.
The hotel featured a restaurant, gym, spa and swimming pool alongside meeting spaces built within historic railway arches.
A spokesperson told Hotel Owner: “Hilton Sheffield ceased to operate on the 15 December 2019. Hilton managed the property on behalf of the owning company, Park Victoria Quays Lessee Ltd.The owning company decided to surrender its lease and, as a result, the hotel closed.”
They also said the hotels closure is “no way linked to Hilton’s operation of the hotel”.
The spokesperson continued: “Prior to the closing we contacted all guests impacted by the closure to inform them of the hotel closure and worked with them to find alternative arrangements where possible.
“We supported team members at the hotel during this time and worked closely with them to understand best options.”
