Homewood hotel has announced it will be joining the Mr and Mrs Smith Collection of hotels.
Homewood, which is currently part of the Kaleidoscope Collection, also announced it has appointed several new senior members of staff, including Ed Fitzpatrick as its new general manager.
Fitzpatrick is set to join the Bath hotel on 20 January, and moves from his role of deputy general manager at the Lygon Arms in Broadway.
Other new appointments include Jamie Foreman as executive head chef, and Rui de Carvalho as deputy general manager.
Foreman has over 20 years of experience, and previously worked at the Abbey Manor House and Cotswold House Hotel. De Carvalho previously worked at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, and was acting general manager for Homewood in its interim period.
The Georgian country manor hotel has also been given “a new lease of life” under current owners, Ian and Christa Taylor. The 21-room hotel is currently being extended to include 11 additional bedrooms, while a new outdoor terrace, four luxury yurts and outdoor meeting area will also be added to the site’s grounds.
Ian Taylor said: “We’re delighted to have someone of Ed’s calibre joining us here at Homewood this month.
“He’s got a fantastic background in five-star operations such as Lucknam Park and Chewton Glen and we’re looking forward to him propelling Homewood to the next level, so that it becomes a well-known country house destination in the UK.”
