Dalata Hotel Group has announced it is partnering with Bureau Veritas in an effort to provide “independent assurance of safety and compliance” as it begins to reopen its Clayton, Maldron and Partner brand hotels.
The hotel group has now implemented a series of measures to help “reduce risk and ensure a safe restart” of its business following the global lockdown.
To assist with the reopening process, the group has now enlisted Bureau Veritas for its ‘Restart Your Business’ initiative, providing voluntary, independent assurance in line with best practice measures.
Bureau Veritas will work alongside Dalata to undertake management level system assessments, together with individual site assessments of 44 hotels across the UK and Ireland.
The audits and assessments will cover a range of measures to help ensure the health and safety of staff and customers, including Covid-19 policies, procedures and communication, social distancing measures, hygiene, Personal Protective Equipment and remote worker assessments.
The groups will also assess building and equipment compliance, including HVAC and air circulation, equipment risk and Legionella risk in buildings which have been closed to the public.
Stephen McNally, deputy CEO for Dalata Hotel Group said: “We are pleased to work with Bureau Veritas who provide an excellent independent accreditation for all our Health and Safety protocols.
“Bureau Veritas are world leaders in testing, inspection and certification. We at Dalata Hotel Group are doing everything possible to protect the Health and Safety of all our guests, employees and suppliers.”
Victoria Shah, sector lead hospitality for Bureau Veritas said: “This is the latest demonstration of how our Restart Your Business solution is supporting organisations in navigating a safe return to work following the COVID-19 shutdowns.
“Working in partnership with the team from Dalata, we look forward to independently assessing management procedures and individual site procedures, providing assurance to staff, customers and other stakeholders.”
She added: “With individual certificates of assurance for each site and full traceability thanks to our new online platform, Dalata staff, customers and stakeholders can have increased confidence in the safety and compliance of its post COVID-19 operations.”
