Accor acquires 35% stake in Mama Shelter

French hotel group Accor has acquired around a 35% stake in boutique hotel brand Mama Shelter, with plans to open a London location under this umbrella.

The partnership will give Mama Shelter access to Accor’s development and distribution network, which it hopes will allow it to accelerate its openings and offer customers new destinations.

The brand expects to open 20 new Mama Shelters in the next five years. Shelter will open in Los Angeles in early 2015, and the company is working on opening an address in Lille, London, Zurich, Mexico City, Seoul, Amsterdam, Barcelona, New York and a second location in Paris.
