Aberdeen-based Siberia Bar and Hotel has announced the permanent closure of its hotel due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The hotel was due to reopen tomorrow (30 July), but the company has decided to focus more on its bar and restaurant.
In a statement on the company’s website, the hotel said: “It had been our intention to reopen our hotel from the 30th of july. It is with huge regret that we have to inform you that we will no longer be doing so.
“This is due to a multitude of factors such as low occupancy, minimal urban staycation uptake, international travel restrictions and a changing local marketplace.”
It added: “Our decision is taken to protect our hotel staff, who will remain furloughed until such time as we deem it viable to reopen the hotel part of our business.”
