Exeter’s former House of Fraser store is to become a boutique hotel, as part of international chain IHG.
Local wealth management firm Prydis first acquired the high street building in February 2020 for an undisclosed price. However, they announced this September a deal with IHG to operate it as part of their boutique brand Hotel Indigo.
There are currently 119 Hotel Indigo franchises across the UK and wider world. The latest Exeter branch is rumored to open its doors at the end of 2021 and will be an up-market four-star stay.
Anna Corkill, director, development, UK&I, IHG, said: “We are excited to bring Hotel Indigo to Exeter. Boutique hotels are as popular as ever in the UK, with guests looking to stay in something unique when they travel.”
She added: “Just as no two neighbourhoods are alike, no two Hotel Indigo properties are designed alike. Each is inspired by its unique neighbourhood story yet marries the certainty of quality and comfort with local style and flavour making it the perfect brand choice for Exeter.”
