The Dalriada Hotel in Scotland has been purchased for more than £1m by former game developer Leslie Benzies, with plans to convert the building into a luxury home.
According to the Times, Benzies who partly developed the Grand Theft Auto series won the bidding despite the property gaining interests from other hospitality groups.
The hotel based in Portobello, Edinburgh, is a grade II listed Victorian villa and has been used as a hotel for more than half a century, its amenities include 6 previous guest bedrooms and an entrance hall, sitting room and kitchen/dining area.
In addition there is a bar space on the ground floor and two with private gardens ,the venue formally traded as the Temple Hall Hotel, and was put on the market for £950K but is believed that it will take at least £500K to transform the building into a home.
The outlet reported that the building was sold by hoteliers Terry and Alison Magill to Mariah Ventures, a new company owned by Benzies.
