Daniele Quattromini, manager at Club Lounge 39 in Canary Wharf, has won the Gold Service Scholarship 2015 following a nationwide search to find the next ‘rising star’ in hospitality.
Quattromini, who was presented with the award at Claridge’s on February 9, was recognised for his “commitment to service excellence” and will now receive a year of mentoring from industry experts.
As part of his prize, Quattromini will have the opportunity to work with Diego Masciaga at The Waterside Inn, Silvano Giraldin at Le Gavroche, the Royal Household at a state occasion, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in Europe and visit the vineyards of Champagne and Bordeaux.
Quattromini said: “It’s an honour to be selected as the Scholar for 2015 and to follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner James Fleming. The next year will be an incredible experience and I feel so fortunate and privileged to know that I will be working alongside industry greats in so many revered venues and establishments.”
It was also announced at the event that the Queen has agreed to become patron of the Gold Service Scholarship.
Speaking at the event, Alastair Storey, chairman of BaxterStorey and of the Gold Service Scholarship Trustees, said: “Her Majesty’s endorsement is a huge encouragement to all of us and, I believe, reflects the value of our sector to the wellbeing of our nation.”
