Epic Apart Hotel expands Liverpool portfolio

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Liverpool-based serviced apartment brand Epic Apart Hotel has opened a brand-new property in the city’s centre.

The property on 75 Duke Street, which had been abandoned since 1984, features 17 apartments and brings the portfolio in Liverpool to 35 apartments and studios offering 200 beds. The renovation project was featured in Hotel Owner earlier this year.

Epic has invested £800,000 in transforming the former office building and said it has sensitively preserved its original features. Each new apartment has been individually designed and it also features two new mezzanine studios, with one featuring a showcase courtyard garden.

Epic has also launched its new ‘ePod’ concept within the property, which are smaller rooms designed for the sole corporate traveller and weekend couple looking for an affordable place to stay.

Simon Beer, who owns the company with his wife, Fiona, said: “We are delighted to open 75 Duke Street, which we think is a great addition to the city’s accommodation offer. The new property is ideal for groups and families who want more than what a hotel can offer them, at a price that’s within their budget.

“We’ve already received amazing feedback about Duke Street from our customers, which is encouraging. And of course seeing our existing properties on Seel and Campbell Street continue to prosper on TripAdvisor is just the icing on the cake.”

Epic’s two other properties on Seel Street and Campbell Street are currently number one and three respectively in the 84-property strong ‘speciality lodging in Liverpool’ section on TripAdvisor.
