Bespoke Hotels to manage County Durham’s George hotel

Bespoke Hotels has marked its first foray into the north east after it announced it is to manage the 30-bedroom George hotel in County Durham.

The hotel, which is owned by Commer Group’s Town and Village Hotels, features a ball room, garden and a restaurant and banqueting area for up to 180 guests. It was previously managed by the Coaching Inns Group.

Robin Sheppard, group chairman, said that Bespoke is delighted to welcome the George to the company’s portfolio.

He added: “It’s a property I’ve long admired, with an esteemed history stretching back over three centuries, and serves to further extend Bespoke’s coverage across the full length and breadth of the UK.”

Bespoke, which was formed 15 years ago, operates more than 100 properties in the UK.
