Blaze rips through London hotel as 12 guests rescued
At least nine guests were rescued after a blaze tore through a London hotel last night.
The fire broke out at the 22-bedroom Rushmore hotel on Trebovir Road in Earl’s Court and a neighbouring block of flats with a mansard roof.
The London Fire Brigade said the whole of the hotel’s second floor was damaged by the fire, along with three quarters of the third floor and all of the roof.
Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued 12 people from the hotel, as well as assisting three people from the property next door and two from the roof of a neighbouring property with an aerial ladder.
London Ambulance Service said there were no injuries.
Station manager Winston Douglas, who was at the scene, said: “This was a serious fire and crews and worked very hard to stop the fire spreading.”
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and under investigation.
