Amaris Hospitality has announced it is to invest a further £24m to extend three landmark properties in a bid to grow capacity and drive revenue.
Jurys Inn Oxford has been chosen as the first hotel to be extended, receiving an additional 72 guest bedrooms and meeting spaces. The 168-bedroom hotel will secure £5.7m of the £24m investment.
Meanwhile, the Hilton Garden Inn – rebranded from Jurys Inn last week – will gain an additional 85 bedrooms following a £10m investment, while Jurys Inn Belfast will receive an £8m investment, including the addition of 80 bedrooms and the complete refurbished of all existing rooms.
In total, the Amaris Hospitality extension programme will add a further 237 rooms to the group, which already has over 13,500 rooms in its portfolio.
John Brennan, CEO, said: “The UK hospitality sector is experiencing positive momentum, with the Amaris Hospitality Group making excellent progress on its previously announced business plan.
“Amaris Hospitality’s strategy is to leverage the size and scale of its unique portfolio of hotel assets to accelerate its growth and development to create the UK and Ireland’s best performing, most exciting hospitality investment and management company.”
The additional investment comes after the company announced a £100m investment programme in October last year in an effort to transform, rebrand and reposition 23 hotels across its 74-strong portfolio.
Amaris added that it is “actively considering” a number of other opportunities to extend additional properties in “key strategic locations”.
