Compass Hospitality has opened a Citrus branded hotel in the UK which is the first of its boutique chain of properties.The group acquired the former Holiday Inn Coventry South and rebranded the three-star hotel as the Citrus Hotel Coventry.
The Thailand-based company already owns hotels across Thailand and Malaysia. It also runs 10 other hotels in the UK including Best Western properties.
A refurbishment of the Citrus Hotel Coventry, which is situated near Birmingham Airport and is close to the city centre, will take place over the next 12 months.
Compass also hopes to acquire new properties in Cardiff and Cheltenham this year to expand its brand in the mid-market and leisure sector.

“We are currently actively searching for the right three and four-star business and leisure properties across the UK and we are planning several more openings in 2017.”
