Overwater Hall in the Lake District is celebrating after winning the Taste of England Award Gold in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2013.
The awards showcase and celebrate the very best of English tourism and the coveted Taste of England Award Gold is bestowed on tourism businesses that produce a high quality end product, use local produce and contribute to the long-term sustainability of their local community.
Family–run Overwater Hall has proudly made its exceptional food offering a showcase of mouthwatering local produce for the last 21 years and is renowned for its elegant menus and excellent service.
The 18th century country house is located close to Overwater Tarn and features a fairy-tale exterior and opulent rooms. Owner of Overwater Hall Adrian Hyde said: “We are absolutely over the moon to have received such an esteemed national award. Over 300 entries were received for the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence and standards were so high there were two Taste of England Golds awarded for 2013 – one to Overwater Hall in Cumbria and one to Samuel’s at Swinton Park, North Yorkshire.
