Lifestyle aparthotel brand Locke has announced the official launch of Beckett Locke in the centre of Dublin’s Docklands area, marking the brand’s second opening in Dublin.
The opening also marks Locke’s third location outside of the UK, following the recently opened Zanzibar Locke by Dublin’s Ha’penny Bridge, and Schwan Locke in Munich.
Beckett Locke features a neighbourhood co-working space, artisan coffee shop, restaurant and cocktail bar, in addition to meeting and event space for up to 100 people.
The apartments reportedly range from 23sqm to 53sqm, each featuring fully-fitted kitchens, living and dining space for short, medium, and long stays.
The interiors of Beckett Locke are inspired by Dublin’s maritime history and the Docklands’ industrial heritage, and the apartments feature black steel, exposed concrete and rust-coloured soft furnishings.
Additionally, Beckett Locke also houses three new food and drink concepts by Alan Clancy’s native restaurant group, NolaClan (House Dublin, 9 Below and Xico).
‘The Belis’ restaurant will reportedly offer a “contemporary Irish take” on classic dishes using freshly sourced ingredients, and ‘Sam’s Corner’ will offer handcrafted cocktails inspired by playwright Samuel Beckett, the aparthotel’s namesake.
In addition, Beckett Locke said it will host a cultural activation programme where locals and guests can participate in talks, events and workshops hosted by local businesses and creatives.
Stephen Mccall, CEO of Locke’s parent company edyn, said: “We are thrilled to open Beckett Locke, our second home in Dublin and the third international property in the Locke family.
“Dublin has always been an important city for us, and we’re excited to bring Locke’s distinctive and vibrant personality to the rapidly expanding Docklands area. The Locke experience ranges from cultural programming to creative partnerships and our ambition is to establish Beckett Locke as a creative hub for guests and locals alike.”
