Scottish boutique hotel operator Manorview Group has announced the acquisition of Bothwell Bridge Hotel in Bothwell, South Lanarkshire, marking the 11th venue in the company’s portfolio.
The Bothwell Bridge Hotel, the 19th Century building previously known as the Clyde Hotel, features 90 bedrooms as well as dining, wedding and function facilities. The property will also add 50% to the group’s bedroom capacity, which is something the business was “keen” to invest in.
The sale of Bothwell Bridge Hotel to Manorview Group has reportedly already concluded and the team will be contacting wedding couples and event bookings in order to “reassure them this will go ahead as planned”.
Manorview has confirmed the plans to continue operating the hotel “as is”, honouring all existing bookings and ensuring wedding couples enjoy their day as already planned and agreed. However, they also plan to invest heavily in the property in the near future.
Steve Graham, founder and director of Manorview Group, said: “We look forward to taking the baton from the Martalo family and continuing the legacy and story of this wonderful hotel and historic property. We take great pride in our properties, and this will be no different.”
David Tracey, Manorview’s managing director, said: “Scotland has so much to offer national and international guests and adding 90 bedrooms to our capacity will ensure that as a group we can host even more visitors.
“The venue mirrors the model of many of our other hotels and we look forward to bringing our learnings from other properties to the table, as well as fully understanding where Bothwell Bridge sits in the market, to give future guests the best possible experience.”
Armando Cirignaco, former general manager of Bothwell Bridge Hotel, added: “We pass the reins to Manorview and are leaving the business we have built in excellent hands with another family firm. We would like to thank the local community for their custom and loyalty and we wish the new operators every success.”
