A luxury hotel based in the heart of Warwickshire, Billesley Manor Hotel and Spa, has revealed plans to enhance its sustainability practices, hoping to set new standards for environmentally friendly initiatives within the hospitality sector.
The historic hotel situated on the outskirts of Stratford-upon-Avon, has embarked on a journey towards a greener future, promoting environmental consciousness in every aspect of its operations.
Billesley Manor has also extended eco-conscious practices to its culinary offerings. A comprehensive supplier screening process ensures that its partners uphold the highest standards of sustainability, and a large proportion of the hotel’s main meals are now vegetarian or vegan, demonstrating its commitment to greener dining options.
In addition, the hotel has created a kitchen garden, with chefs growing their own fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
Plans have also been put into place to enhance the hotel’s eco-friendly footprint across its premises. It has introduced EV charging points, established a ‘No Mow Zone’ to nurture local wildlife, and is digitising internal processes to reduce paper consumption. With LED lighting, motion sensors, and rainwater harvesting, its green credentials extend throughout its building and site – with 100% of its electricity being backed by renewable energy certificates.
Under the new sustainable plans, Billesley Manor will undergo a “comprehensive” water audit, replace further equipment with improved energy-efficient models, and offer ‘Green Meetings’ to promote environmentally responsible events.
