Britannia Hotels-owned Pontins has announced the closure of its third holiday park in two months.
Pontins Southport Holiday Park shut permanently on 3 January and prior to this, its parks in Prestatyn and Camber Sands shut on 30 November
Pontins, which was founded in 1946, was bought out of administration by Britannia Hotels in 2011.
The group, which started with six sites, now has only two sites in Lowestoft and Weston-Super-Mare.
It stated that customers whose bookings will be affected by these closures will be contacted by its team and refunded.
In a Facebook post, the group said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the closure of Pontins Southport Holiday Park.
“After assessing the future viability of the park, we have come to the difficult decision to close our doors. Unfortunately, this means that Pontins Southport Holiday Park will be closing from 3 January 2024. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
