The Michelin Guide has announced the brand new One, Two, and Three Key hotel distinctions in the UK and Ireland for the very first time.
In the UK and Ireland in total the 2024 Michelin Guide hotel selection includes 14 Three Key hotels, 37 Two Key hotels and 72 One Key hotels.
Of the 14 properties that earned the Three Key distinction there is The Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, Adare Manor and Ballyfin Demesne in the Republic of Ireland, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Great Milton, Lucknam Park in Colerne and the Newt in Somerset in Bruton.
A third of the hotels on the Michelin Guide are in London, including 8 Three Key hotels and dozens in the One and Two Key categories.
The London hotels that received the Three Key distinction are Bvlgari Hotel, Claridge’s, Four Seasons Hotel at Park Lane, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, Raffles London at The OWO, The Connaught, The Peninsula and The Savoy.
Among the 37 hotels that received the Two Key distinction there are 15 London hotels, including The Dorchester, Corinthia Hotel, Rosewood London and The Beaumont Hotel.
Of the 72 One Key hotels, 20 are in the capital.
The Keys distinction is the culmination of a “comprehensive refresh” of the guide’s hotel selection. The guide lists over 5,000 hotels across the world.
In an official announcement, the Michelin Guide said: “These [hotels] are places that significantly add to your experience as a traveller, each vetted by our hotel experts and judged excellent in five categories: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for the price, and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting.”
