Newhall Mains, a Michelin key hotel in the Scottish Highlands, has reopened for the summer season with new wellness facilities.
The hotel now has a bespoke outdoor sauna designed by Mor and Broze and a cold plunge pool, which is available to book for private use for up to six guests. Furthermore, a six-seater sauna is available for exclusive use.
The hotel is open between 1 April to 30 November, with guests able to choose between five individually-themed cottages and four double bedroom suites.
The suites feature king beds, en suite bathrooms with walk-in showers, underfloor heating and seating areas. The cottages at the site stay open during the winter months for self-catered accommodation at reduced rates.
Newhall Mains also has a standalone restaurant with a menu showcasing quality British produce, often cooked in the woodfired oven in the hotel’s courtyard. The 35-cover restaurant is housed in a former grain store, overlooking the hotel’s central courtyard and grounds, with expansive windows flooding the space with natural light.
The hotel even has its own airfield, which is free to use for guests arriving in their own aircraft.
The former farm was turned into a boutique hotel by owner Euan Ramsay and his family in 2021. Previous to this Ramsay worked in London for six years both in finance and hospitality including with Corbin and King at The Wolseley, The Beaumont and The Delaunay.
Newhall was designed by London-based Kelling Designs and refurbished by a team of Highland-based craftsmen, who restored the building’s exteriors using traditional materials including stone, lime render, lead and slate.
