Clermont Hotel Group has announced the appointment of FIH Charles Oak as general manager of the The Royal Horseguards Hotel.

Oak is a highly respected leader in high-end hospitality, with extensive experience in both guest service and operational leadership.

Early in his career, he completed a mini-MBA: the Advanced Management Programme (AMP) at Templeton College, Oxford University, laying the foundation for his strategic and commercial leadership.

He went on to hold leadership roles at esteemed establishments such as The May Fair Hotel, Heckfield Place, The Savoy, Gleneagles, Plaza Hotel New York, as well as Skibo Castle Scotland and Hotel De Crillon Paris.

Most recently, during his six years at The Londoner Hotel, where he served as hotel director, Oak played a pivotal role in establishing the property as one of London’s premier luxury destinations.

Located along the River Thames in the heart of Whitehall, The Royal Horseguards Hotel features a French château-style architecture and offers 282 rooms.

Oak said: “The Royal Horseguards Hotel is a truly iconic property with an extraordinary legacy, and I’m thrilled to have joined at such an exciting time with plenty of projects in the pipeline.

“I look forward to working with the team to enhance its rich heritage, deliver exceptional guest experiences and elevate the hotel’s reputation as a leading destination in the heart of London.”
