Chestnut Group has announced the appointments of Henry Fairbanks as director of acquisitions and wholesale and Ollie Trezise as operations lead for the group.

Fairbanks has led Chestnut’s hospitality operations since 2020, bringing insight into the group’s diverse operations and strategic ambitions.

Trezise was previously regional director at City Pub Company, bringing with him over 18 years of experience building and managing hospitality teams.

At Chestnut he will work closely with the group’s 1,000 staff across the portfolio to bring a best in class ‘Chestnut’ service to its guests, ensuring that each property remains true to its bespoke offer.

The appointments come as the group embarks on a three-year growth strategy to acquire and integrate new businesses into the group. In June, The White Horse in Blakeney joined the Chestnut collection, followed by the acquisition of The Red Lion in East Bergholt in early July.

Founder Philip Turner said: “Our three-year plan sets out a clear vision for sustainable and strategic growth, focused on acquiring businesses that align with our brand and value. Henry has played an important role in shaping our operational culture and guest experience. His knowledge of the business and leadership experience make him essential in driving us through this next phase of our growth.”

“Ollie’s experience and knowledge of the sector makes him a crucial member of the team. Having him on board will enable us to drive forward our ambitious plans and ensure that whilst we grow, each and every one of our properties remains true to its unique individuality. No pub is the same and we need to stay true to that ethos.”

The group owns and manages 22 pubs with rooms and big house hotels across the East of England.
