The AC Hotel by Marriott Birmingham, which is managed by Valor Hospitality Europe, has appointed Simon Barratt as its new general manager.
Having previously worked as general manager for the Village Hotel Club in Dudley for four years, Barratt said he has joined the hotel as he was seeking a new challenge with an organisation that works alongside global brands.
In his new role, he aims to drive sales and encourage team engagement as well as guest satisfaction. He said: “One of the things that attracted me to this role at a Valor hotel was the organisation’s values, they really shine through. Having met with numerous support functions and colleagues it’s clear that there’s a real ‘team’ culture throughout all areas of the business – something I really respect.
“The AC brand is fairly new to the UK so it’s exciting to be part of it and I look forward to playing a part in the continued success of the hotel.”
Valor Hospitality Europe has been operational in the UK for three years and manages 17 properties in its UK portfolio on behalf of investment vehicles affiliated with MCAP Global Finance.
